As your local Ace Hardware, our store is a member of the largest retailer-owned hardware cooperative in the industry. We have a large bright store with friendly and helpful staff. Unique to our store is our new Home Improvement & Design Center.
Bill & Patty Meanley purchased the store in 1991 and manager Ron Roman joined them a month later. Ron's daughter, Erica has been with us over 16 years while assistant manager, Bill Walby served over 23 years before recently retiring. Bill will be missed but Mike Gonzales and others are answering the challenge. This truly family business joined the Ace Hardware co-op in 2004 for better access to a wide range of products and services at low cost.

I like the very nice store with lots of isles and shelves, I like the big selection of closet shelves and closet organizer.
My favorite thing about this place is the people who work here, theyre very helpful, cheery and make shopping here a nice experience. The best and most helpful place in Pacific Beach. They have a great crew that really knows their stuff.
Ellen B. Scripps became a legend in La Jolla through unselfish dedication to the service of others. In 1948 her niece, Nackey Scripps Meanley, together with husband Tom and son William established Meanley & Son Hardware dedicated to that same principle of service. In 1997 Meanley's joined the ACE Hardware Co-op., a co-op of independently owned and operated hardware stores joining together to provide customers with world class service and competitive prices. With ACE as a partner, Meanley's is ready for the 21st century. Hammer & Nails Hardware has served Pacific Beach and La Jolla in the same location since 1946.
Friendly service and usually everything I need to get the job done. Nice people working here and customers are also nice. I have worked construction for over 30 years and havent found a small hardware outlet than this well managed store. I like the outdoor flowers, and plants area here you can find a great selection of different plant food too and gardening gadgets.
They are led by Tony and John that I have never stumped with any repair. While they provide much better service than Home Depot, they also have a lot of stuff that HD does not have and their prices are very reasonable. I always try them first before driving to HD. They are a little weak in the Paint Department - they dont mix colors, but have all the basic stuff and colors.
